Exterior Foundation Preparation with Zip System and USG Durock

At Cardona Builders, we recently wrapped up a project designed to transform the exterior foundation of a residential home using high-quality materials. Our focus was on ensuring the house would soon support a beautiful stucco finish that complements the neighborhood aesthetics while providing robust protection against the elements.

The project involved strategically employing Zip System panels for the upper part of the foundation. These panels are renowned for their strong air and moisture barrier qualities, which make them ideal for creating a durable and weather-resistant surface. This step was crucial as it prepared the structure for long-term standing, especially in the variable weather of our local climate, which sees everything from hot summers to cold, snowy winters.

For a stable and appealing base, we opted for USG Durock for the lower portion of the foundation.
